Stephen A. Smith Out at Philadelphia Inquirer, May Be Headed to Showtime
After a week in which practically every sports writer in the country ripped on him for his LeBron James free-agency predictions, sportswriter Stephen A. Smith is parting ways with the Philadelphia Inquirer, after a relationship that spanned more than 15 years.
“I’m as happy as I’ve been for a long time,” Smith told Richard Prince’s Journal-isms blog on Wednesday. “I get to do what I really want to do. Anything’s possible. The sky’s the limit.”
Word last week was that Smith was pursuing a deal with Showtime for a late night talk show.
