The sports staff at the online-only Globe-Democrat have resigned to pursue other opportunities, tweeted former sports editor Rob Rains yesterday.
Rains’ son B.J. said on his own Twitter feed that “they gave the GD more than a month to fix some concerns they had and nothing was resolved.”
Romenesko says that staffers hadn’t received a paycheck since May 15. Could that be the “concern” staffers had?
We have a call in with the Globe-Democrat and will update when we hear back.
Update: BND.com reports that Rains also had the (mis?)fortune to work at the old Globe-Democrat, which folded twiceonce in 1985 when the paper couldn’t afford to pay its staff for three months.
