Sprint Bets on Samsung’s Instinct

InstinctFrontMain.jpgThe latest bit of “iPod-killer” buzz comes out of CTIA and centers around the Samsung Instinct. Launched as a Sprint exclusive, the Instinct has a 3.1-inch touchscreen display with something called “localized tactile feedback.” This apparently means that there’s a “sensory experience” when you use the QWERTY keypad and other touchscreen functions, NewsFactor reports.

Touted as Sprint’s first EV-DO rev A consumer handset, the Instinct runs on the upgraded mobile broadband network that supports data download rates up to 3.1 Mbps and upload speeds up to 1.8 Mbps, which is good for watching Sprint TV, using Sprint Navigation and accessing the mobile Web.

According to FierceWireless, the Instinct will be out in June and will sell for less than $300 in a clear effort to undercut the pricier iPhone.
