Spotted: Sen. Inouye at the Apple Store

If reporters are looking for Sen. Daniel Inouye (D-Hawaii) on the weekends they may be wise to start staking out the Apple store in Potomac, Md.’s Montgomery Mall. Inouye was spotted there early Saturday afternoon checking out iPads with a woman who appeared to be his wife.

Inouye chairs the Senate Appropriations Committee and the Senate Subcommittee on Defense.

Onlookers noted the striking degree of security that accompanied Inouye. With him were three male security guards with earpieces and red pins — one stationed outside the store, two by his side.

Bystanders in the packed store remarked that Inouye’s presence did not create a scene, nor did heads necessarily turn to try to figure out who he was.
