Spotify Just Bought a Startup That Crowdsources Concert Photos and Videos

And should help artists market themselves

In an effort to help artists market their music, Spotify has acquired a startup that aggregates photos and videos from concerts.

CrowdAlbum, founded in 2013, has already worked with major bands and musicians including Diplo, Death Cab for Cutie, Lil Wayne, Fall Out Boy and more than 1,000 others. In a statement today announcing the news, Spotify said buying CrowdAlbum will help artists better "understand, activate and monetize" their audiences.
