Spoiler Alert: Barbara Walters’ Non-Window Into Anna Wintour, Sacha Baron Cohen

Do you know what happens tonight at 10pm? DO YOU? It is only the most important annual Barbara Walters special ever to run on ABC, Barbara Walters Presents: The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2006. This time, we get the most intriguing people from the year of our media lord 2006 — including Anna Wintour and Sascha Baron Cohen — in probing interviews about just what makes them so fascinating. Or not. Repeat requests to the show’s publicist finally landed us this zinger from Wintour, ahead of tonight’s show:

In response to a query from Walters regarding the allegedly Wintour-inspired character of “Miranda Priestly” depicted by Meryl Streep in this year’s film version of The Devil Wears Prada, Wintour says, “Anything that makes fashion entertaining and glamourous and interesting is wonderful for our industry. So, I was 100 percent behind it.” Sure thing, Anna.

In other news that isn’t, if you’re looking for a deep, probing exploration into the soul of comedian Sacha Baron Cohen, look elsewhere. Like everyone else, Walters gets Borat, not Baron Cohen, for the interview, which an ABC rep tells us will consist of various clips of him in character.
