  • The Halo Group of New York will help launch Latin footwear staple Flossy Shoes in the US. The brand, which was “originally worn by bohemians,” turned to Halo for media relations, social media, events, celebrity endorsements, and product placement.
  • Brooklyn’s Praytell Strategy announced several new clients including sports ticket app-maker Gametime, ad-supported movie streaming site SnagFilms, NY music publisher Kobalt, and audio sharing service SoundCloud, where you go to pretend to listen to your friend’s homemade hip-hop tracks.
  • Current Lifestyle Marketing of Chicago won the Club Med account, which inspired us to Google a bit from the series “Old Jews Telling Jokes.
  • Eastwick, with offices in San Francisco, Sunnyvale, and New York, will run PR efforts for BMC Software, maker of IT tech and other products that you may use every day whether you know it or not.
  • Absorption Pharmaceuticals picked North Carolina’s French/West/Vaughan as agency of record for its drug Promescent, which acts to prevent premature ejaculation. (We hear the pitching process was over before it even started.)
  • Baltimore’s Warschawski won the Chiron Technology Services account; the new client specializes in cybersecurity and works with the Department of Defense, so its business is booming.
  • Atrium PR now handles PR for CROSSMEDIA, the New York agency that just won media buying/planning duties for the GNC account. No word on whether Eric Schneiderman approves.
  • The Brandon Agency, straight from our hometown of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina (go Pelicans!!) will be PR AOR for Heybo, a brand created to “celebrate the southern outdoors experience.” The firm will handle “brand development,” site design, social media, SEO, analytics and more…but even they can’t bring back the Pavilion.
  • Magrino signed two new clients: winery/estate Château d’Esclans and Manhattan “market and dining experience” Le District (which might be good enough to cleanse our palate after the MoMA Bjork show). The firm also renewed its contracts with James Beard Foundation Awards and the Kips Bay Decorator Show House.
  • MMGY Global signed several new hospitality group clients: The Leading Hotels of the WorldNH Hotel Group, and Occidental Hotels & Resorts.
  • Ogilvy Public Relations Indonesia will once again serve as PR provider for the World Economic Forum, set to take place in Jakarta April 19-21.
