  • French/West/Vaughan of North Carolina will be AOR for BRAND Napa Valley Winery of Napa Valley, California, handling everything from comms and brand strategy to “creative execution” in order to raise awareness of the brand’s red wine offerings among high-level consumers, trades, and industry influencers. In preparation for the coming campaign, employees will memorize each of Paul Giamatti’s lines from Sideways.
  • Global agency LEWIS PR announced the acquisition of San Diego’s Piston in order to further its move into the paid media space. The former Piston — in addition to an earlier UK-based acquisition — will operate under the LEWIS Pulse umbrella in functioning as the firm’s digital marketing arm. LEWIS will inherit Piston’s clients, which include AAA, AARP, BareMinerals, Cars.com, Intuit, Inspirato, Mophie, Shiseido, SkullCandy, Sunglass Hut, TVG and Yakult. President John Hartman will continue to run the division while reporting to LEWIS Pulse SVP Stephen Corsi.
  • Salt Lake City’s Wall Street Communications signed Quantum, maker of “scale-out storage, archive, and data protection solutions” for media professionals, as its newest client. The agency will work to raise awareness of the company’s offerings to its core audience; the client’s SVP Geoff Stedman cites his own “long and productive history with Wall Street Communications” without elaborating on that point in the release.
  • Henson Consulting of Chicago announced plans to move into a larger space in order to accommodate its growth. The firm, which will reportedly double its workforce over the next 12-18 months, also announced several new clients, which lean heavily toward the city’s food industry: Potbelly Sandwich Works, Chicago Scholars, Mariano’s, mobile dining app Reserve, Millennium Dance Complex Chicago, Good Stuff Eatery, and Dolce Italian.
  • Vault Communications of Trevose, Pennsylvania, has been named AOR for Rita’s Italian Ice and Saxby’s Coffee, both located in Pennsylvania. The agency will help the former client celebrate its annual First Day of Spring promotion this month in addition to providing social media counsel.
