Cohn & Wolfe China signed a three-year contract to represent Tourism Fiji; C&W is the first China-area firm appointed by the group. The purpose of the contract: to convince more of China's growing leisure class to choose Fiji as its next tourism destination. Sadly, while the islands boast more than their share of natural beauty and local attractions, only Tom Hanks can hear the volleyballs. FleishmanHillard is PR AOR for Caron Treatment Centers, a nonprofit group operating drug/alcohol addiction treatment facilities around the country. They're all part of the B&BH group founded by Mario Batali, Joe Bastianich and Lidia Bastianich, but only one of them allows Crocs. Ruder Finn will represent LED lighting maker Bridgelux, a company whose products may be found in luxury retail environments, streetlights, and commercial and industrial lighting...which all provide more practical uses than "lighting Jeff Goldblum's toupee" (We know he wears one onscreen because we served him once during our retail days. It's a long, balding story.) Diffusion PR has been chosen to handle AOR duties for Skulpt, maker of a fitness device that empowers users to "rates the quality of individual muscles and measures the fat percentages of those muscles" rather than, say, "fashionably tweet from [the] wrist while clubbing" (yes, that is a real sentence). New York-based Formula PR will be the first agency of record for granola-maker 18 Rabbits. PR Week tells us that the firm will organize immersive experiences for customers and influential green bloggers while facilitating thought leadership in the health food space. Someone pour a kale smoothie and get ready to pitch goop...
