Spin the Agencies of Record

Fifteen Minutes PR will be the agency of record for Project Shoe, a service that allows customers to quite literally design their own footwear (which will be delivered to their doors in 2-4 weeks).

We hope they do slip-ons.

The firm will also represent Nicole Curtis, star of the DIY Network/HGTV show “Rehab Addict”. The show focuses on Curtis’ efforts to renovate condemned houses–a process that will almost certainly ruin more than a few pairs of shoes…

Advocacy group Allergy & Asthma Network Mothers of Asthmatics signed 5WPR as its agency of record.

The group’s mission is to highlight the struggles of those who suffer from asthma, allergies and related conditions.

5W’s primary role will be to raise awareness of the group among those affected by the condition and promote its advocacy outreach event Allergy & Asthma Day on Capitol Hill on May 7th 2014.

Dallas’ Jackson Spalding will handle PR and social media for Mattress Firm, a specialty retailer of those things on which one sleeps.

The release notes that the company, which operates more than 1,300 locations in 33 states, chose JS after a review of “nearly 50 firms through multiple rounds of vetting.”

We’ve yet to enter a Mattress Firm location, though we think we just heard our lower back scream “WHY NOT?”

North Carolina’s French/West/Vaughan will be AOR for USA Futsal, a group created to promote the Portugese version of soccer (played primarily indoors on smaller fields). The agency will be tasked with raising awareness of the game in preparation for the World Futsal Championships at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando (promoted in partnership with Disney).

Note to “Mad Men” fans: you’re thinking of jai alai.
