Toy manufacturer and children’s entertainment company Spin Master has announced the launch of Tech Deck on iOS and Android, bringing its popular line of fingerboards (finger skateboards) to mobile users.

Developed by Free Range Games, Tech Deck sees players traveling to different locations, pulling off as many skate tricks as possible using tap, hold and slide touch controls on their device’s screen. Instead of offering an open-world, Tech Deck is level-based, and plays like a rhythm game. Prompts appear on the screen, asking users to tap or swipe at the correct time to cause their skater to perform scripted moves.

Over 100 official models of Tech Deck skateboards are available in the game, and each comes with its own set of stats to improve the player character. The more boards the player purchases, the better their stats become and the higher their scores in each level.

“Tech Deck is a hallmark of the fingerboard hobbyist community,” said Tim May, Head of Interactive Publishing for Spin Master, via a company release. “With Tech Deck, Free Range Games has built a cutting-edge skateboarding experience perfect for genre gamers, while maintaining the pure, tactile sensation of maneuvering a skateboard and the fidelity to board design and branding that fans love.

In addition to the game’s stock decks, Tech Deck owners can scan their real-life boards into the game to use them to skate.

Tech Deck is now available to download for free on iOS and Google Play. The game is monetized via the purchase of in-game currency and energy (as examples). You can follow the app’s progress on AppData, our tracking service for mobile and social apps and developers.
