SoundCloud on Twitch to Debut May 6

The music and audio sharing platform will bring a full slate of original music-related programming to the videostreaming network

Music and audio sharing platform SoundCloud will kick off a full slate of original programming related to the music community with the debut Wednesday (May 6) of SoundCloud on Twitch.

SoundCloud said its goals are to bring the music community together in real-time, inspire creativity, highlight great music and help its community engage with their favorite artists, producers, and industry experts.

SoundCloud on Twitch kicks off Wednesday, May 6 at 2 p.m. ET with Studio Sessions With Soulection.

The weekly one-hour music show is hosted by Soulection founder Joe Kay, and he and special guests will highlight undiscovered tracks on SoundCloud. It will air every other Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. ET.

Three-hour weekly live series Cloud Bar will debut Thursday, May 7 at 2 p.m. ET and then alternate weekly between start times of 2 p.m. ET and 9 a.m. ET.

The show is split into three one-hour segments: Live Music From a Distance, providing tips from key music industry figures on how they have continued to deliver live music despite the coronavirus pandemic, via various platforms; Music Discovery Today, in which music journalists, publicists, artists and others will discuss how they see the music landscape evolving and strategies to help new and emerging artists get noticed; and The Art of Self-Care, featuring creators, thinkers, healers and experts on staying healthy in body and mind through tough times and beyond.

Guests on the premiere episode include: the Mechanical Licensing Collective’s Dae Bogan, Golden Child Entertainment’s Matthew Burnett, XXL editorial director Georgette Cline, GCE’s Jordan Evans, Biz 3’s Kathryn Frazier, hip-hop entrepreneur Roger Gengo, Creative Artists Agency agent Zach Iser, hip-hop artist/producer/activist Vic Mensa and CAA agent Caroline Yim.

More series will join the lineup next week.

Fresh Pressed debuts Monday, May 11, and will air every Monday from 2 p.m. ET to 3:30 p.m. ET, with the best new tracks and the stories behind them, inspired by SoundCloud’s playlist of the same name.

SoundCloud director of label relations Marisa Jeffries and independent label relations executive Jessica Messier will host.

And every other Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. ET, Fast Track will feature rising beatmakers creating beats using cutting-edge software and instruments, and those beats will be available for download via SoundCloud immediately after the show. The first episode will feature equipment from software and virtual instruments company Output.
