Sony Announces Touchscreen eReader

Sony just announced the PRS-700, a touchscreen eReader with a 6-inch E-Ink display, Engadget reports. The unit lets owners turn pages with a simple finger swipe, it refreshes the screen faster, and there’s also a stylus and on-screen keyboard for searching and note-taking.

Other additions include a backlight (finally!) for reading in the dark along with an updated online store. Like its predecessor (the PRS-505), the PRS-700 also includes enough internal storage for about 350 eBooks, along with SD and MS-Duo expansion slots and a 7500 page-turn battery life, the report said.
