SoDA Study: Senior Marketers to Focus on Social Networks in 2010

SoDALogo.jpgSocial networks and applications found their way to the top of the list of “Top Priorities in 2010 According to Senior Marketers Worldwide” compiled by the Society of Digital Agencies, as reported by eMarketer.

According to data from SoDA’s “2010 Digital Marketing Outlook” report, social networks and applications represent a top priority for 45.4% of respondents, followed closely by digital infrastructure at 44.5%. The list is rounded out by search optimization (27%), mobile (26.8%), blogger outreach (18.4%), viral campaigns (18.3%), digital advertising (15.9%), email marketing (14.1%) and games (8.8%).

When asked which advertising-performance metrics were most important, 27.9% cited time on site, followed by unique page views (23.7%), click-through rate (16%), page views (11.9%), cost per thousand homes (8%) and other (9.4%).

Other SoDA findings, as reported by eMarketer: 81% of brand executives surveyed expected an increase in digital projects in 2010; one-half will move dollars from traditional to digital budgets; and more than three-quarters think the current economy will push more allocations to digital.
