Social Volume: Most Popular Topics On Twitter During The Presidential Debate

The presidential debates set a new Twitter record for the most-tweeted-about US political event in history with over 10 million tweets sent during the hour and a half event. And this infographic explores what topics got the Twitterverse really fired up.

As you might have heard, one of the most tweeted moments of the debate was the Big Bird snafu – Romney’s assertion that he’d cut PBS funding. But this infographic from SnappyTV shows that people were also interested in tweeting about the actual core issues of the debate: taxes, the economy and healthcare.
