Did you know that 80 percent of law enforcement personnel use social media to conduct investigations?
Two-thirds (67 percent) believe that social media helps solve crimes more quickly, and in almost nine in every ten occasions (87 percent) search warrants utilising social media to establish probable cause stand up in court when contested.
For criminals, these figures are disturbing enough, but things are only going to get worse – 83 percent of social media-savvy law enforcement agencies plan to increase their usage in 2013, and 74 percent of non-users plan to start.
