Soundwave, the mobile app that tracks the listening habits of you, your friends and other users you follow, to help you discover more and better music, is rolling out a significant update today that sees it maneuver to try to become the “water cooler” of what people are listening to right now. It’s doing this via a raft of new social features, specifically the ability to create ad-hoc private messaging groups where you can discuss and share music with friends, regardless of which service it originates from. The Next Web You can create and join as many groups as you like, inviting existing Soundwave contacts, SMS or email. In addition to group IM you get a shared playlist that any member can add songs to it. The Irish Times The updated app will have “music on tap” whereby users will be able to play the full YouTube video for any song directly within Soundwave or open it in Spotify/Rdio/Deezer with one click. Unlike typical music apps that aim to promote manual sharing, the Soundwave app has the unique ability to pull in a user’s song plays from their Android, Apple and other streaming apps and sync these songs to their Soundwave profile to show others what songs they listen to. AppAdvice You can also generate an instant playlist by swiping to see all of the songs that have been shared. “This feature is perfect for planning your next house party, road trip or even trying to gather suggestions for the first dance at your wedding,” the Soundwave team notes. “It’s there for you to use however you like.”

Facebook Ads Manager Goes Mobile (AllFacebook)
Facebook’s Ads Manager has gone mobile, as the social network announced in a post on its Facebook for Business page that Ads Manager will be included in its flagship iOS and Android applications, as well as via its mobile site. Facebook said Ads Manager will be rolled out on mobile “in the coming days,” on a global basis, with all advertisers having access to it by the end of the summer.
