Earlier this week, we announced that Facebook now has 30 million active small business Pages worldwide. And now, starting later this week, all existing Pages — including the 30 million active small business Pages — will have access to a refreshed design, as well as more control over the functionality of their Pages. AllFacebook Admins accessing their pages Wednesday saw a tour of the refreshed design. After completing the tour, admins can switch to the new design right away. The Next Web Every Page will automatically switch to the updated design two weeks after the tour has Facebook began pushing the new design in March, with the biggest change being that all posts are now in one column, just like on user profiles.

Yext Raises $50 Million to Build Local-Business Directory (The Wall Street Journal/Digits)
Three years after overhauling its business model, the New York-based startup Yext has raised a large round of funding and is predicting its first profit next year. Yext, an online-marketing tool for brick-and-mortar businesses, closed $50 million in funding led by Insight Venture Partners, co-founder and chief executive officer Howard Lerman said in an interview.

Last month, a Recode rumor suggested Twitter was looking to buy SoundCloud, only to have a WSJ rumor say that “the numbers didn’t add up” for a deal to go through. Wednesday we learned that Twitter considered buying not just SoundCloud, but also looked into making offers for Pandora as well as Spotify, according to three people familiar with the matter cited by the Financial Times.
