Only posts that are set as public can be embedded. Users will be able to share and like content directly from the embedded post without having to visit Facebook. Though an estimated 72 percent of Facebook users set their posts to private, the company has lately been looking to tap its public posts for added commentary and color on topical issues. Although the social network is far larger than Twitter, its rival is seen as one of the most dominant hubs for breaking events. The number of requests for Twitter user data from governments around the world continued to grow in the first half of 2013, the microblogging service said in its semiannual transparency report, released Wednesday.
