Cameos, introduced last December, enable users to add their faces to popular memes and create short, looping videos.
Snapchat teamed up with the NFL on three Cameos.
The first two let fans choose between Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and San Francisco 49ers counterpart Jimmy Garoppolo, and both feature the gold NFL 100 football that commemorates the league’s 100th anniversary.
And the third puts fans on the couch during the Big Game.
The custom marker lens for Super Bowl LIV can be unlocked by pressing and holding on the logos for the Super Bowl, the two teams or Hard Rock Stadium.
Doing so opens seven NFL moments—including the “helmet catch” by New York Giants wide receiver David Tyree during Super Bowl XLII and the “Philly Special” from Super Bowl LII—brought to live via a 2D augmented reality experience.
A spinning animation will bring fans from one iconic Super Bowl moment to the next, and the AR experience culminates with the user arriving at Super Bowl LIV as Garoppolo and Mahomes square off with “Take It to the House” music.
Snapchatters can use a Reaction Cam Lens to wear Super Bowl team jackets with the top Big Game moments playing on screen.
Geofilters will be available in the two teams’ home markets, as well as Miami, the site of the Big Game.
Custom Super Bowl stickers will be rolled out worldwide for use in chats Sunday.
Finally, content that will be available via Discover includes The Biggest Bloopers/Fails in Super Bowl History Friday, an NFL Highlights Super Bowl Special Sunday and three Our Stories, also Sunday, focused on the game, the halftime show and the hype surrounding the event.
