Snaps will be packed with a lot more background information following Snapchat’s launch of Context Cards Tuesday.
The messaging application teamed up with launch partners TripAdvisor, Foursquare, Michelin, Goop, Uber, Lyft, OpenTable, Resy and BookTable to supply information including reviews (from critics and customers), tips, reservations, booking rides, directions, hours of operation, phone numbers, websites and other Snaps from around the area.
Context Cards are launching for iOS and Android users in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Australia and New Zealand, and users who have opted in to share their locations—via Snaps submitted to Our Story and appearing in Search and Snap Map, or via venue-specific geofilters that are shared with friends, posted to personal Snapchat Stories or submitted to Our Story—can swipe on any snaps that say “More” to access them.
Select locations will also integrate Snapchat Stories into their Context Cards—made up of Snaps submitted via Our Story and images and videos from partners—to bring users even more information.
A Snapchat spokesperson told Social Pro Daily Context Cards will be expanded to include more partners and additional information as the company learns more about their usage.
