Smithsonian Magazine Honors Roseanne Cash

Will get an award for performing arts

Smithsonian Magazine will hold its 3rd Annual American Ingenuity Awards in October, honoring eight of the most innovative people in the arts and sciences. And this year, the award for performing arts will go to Rosanne Cash.

T Bone Burnett will present the award to Cash, the eldest daughter of music legend Johnny Cash.

Smithsonian Magazine editor in chief Michael Caruso, who helped launch the Ingenuity Awards in 2012, noted that the press has described the evening as “the Golden Globes of the intellect.”
