Small-Business Owners See Recovery a Year Away

Is a healthier economy in the cards anytime soon? Not according to a sizable share of small-business owners who answered a quarterly Administaff survey.

About half of respondents said the economy won’t start to recover until later next year, according to Reuters. Most businesses said they are not planning to add staff or raise pay for at least the rest of this year.

On the upside, average pay among the businesses serviced by Administaff is up 3.2 percent, and bonuses and commissions have also ticked upward.
