Find The Easter Eggs In Skittles’ Latest YouTube Video Campaign

Skittles has released a series of new ‘Skittles Touch’ videos, but this time there’s a twist—each of the videos also contains its own secret “Easter Egg” annotation linking to hidden content.

Last year around this time Skittles launched an awkward online video campaign starring your finger.  Viewers were asked to place a finger on the screen to become a part of the action and the campaign amassed millions of views.  A year later, the campaign has returned with a series of new ‘Skittles Touch’ videos, but this time there’s a twist—each of the videos also contains its own secret “Easter Egg” annotation linking to hidden content.

Before we get to the Easter Eggs, here’s a little more on the latest Skittles Touch campaign.  This year’s videos aren’t quite as awkward as last year’s cat video…but they’re still pretty weird.  This year there’s a werewolf baby, a princess, a Cyclops, a sasquatch, and tennis-playing zombie.

Easter Egg annotations are hidden in each of the videos, linking to videos and other content. The Easter Eggs were added after the campaign officially launched—perhaps to bring in more views, as the campaign hasn’t been nearly as successful as last year’s.

The following video can be discovered when you click on the Skittles posted in the background of the Dr. Cyclops video.  An explanation of how to find the other Easter Eggs can be found in that video’s description.

I love the concept behind this campaign, but I do have to say that some of the stuff that Skittles has come up with recently has turned me off to Skittles altogether…like this:

What’s your take on the Skittles Touch campaign and Easter Eggs?  Do these videos make you want to run out and buy a bag of Skittles?
