Situation Room: Catching On

Circuit City-like TV walls are all the rage, apparently:

Amping up the style of presentation ushered in a year ago with “The Situation Room,” CNN was scheduled to unveil its Manhattan “news wall” on Tuesday’s editions of “Paula Zahn Now” and “Anderson Cooper 360.” Along with those programs, the newly equipped studio at CNN’s Time Warner Center headquarters will also be the home of “American Morning” starting Monday.

Dominating one area of the studio is a screen that measures 24 feet long and 9 feet high.

“We want CNN to have one fundamental characteristic: a lot of energy and a lot of information,” said CNN president Jonathan Klein, “but with this studio, there are a lot of variations on the theme that can make each show look distinctive.”
