Sitting Pretty: Instagram Brings User Profiles to the Desktop

Mobile photo-sharing service Instagram is finally letting community members see their profiles on the web. The company will be rolling out the changes to all users in the next few days. With the new web profiles, people can follow other users, make comments on and "like" other people's photos, and edit their own profiles outside of the mobile app.

Mobile photo-sharing service Instagram is finally letting community members see their profiles on the web. The company will be rolling out the changes to all users in the next few days.

With the new web profiles, people can follow other users, make comments on and “like” other people’s photos, and edit their own profiles outside of the mobile app. They will not be able to upload photos directly from the web.

The pictures will be visible, and thus searchable to others, depending on the user’s privacy settings.
