Sina Weibo Now Available In Singapore And Indonesia

China’s Twitter, Sina Weibo, recently valued at $6 billion, isn’t slowing down.

The network has expanded to Singapore and Indonesia.

As Mashable reports, Sina Weibo’s movement into Singapore and Indonesia is as much enterprise-focused as it is user-based.

Goals include signing more brands up for Sina Weibo’s blue V enterprise-verified accounts (like Facebook brand pages) and growing Weibo Wallet, a service similar to PayPal.

What does Sina Weibo’s expansion mean for Twitter?

Western celebrities and brands are already flocking to Twitter’s Asian counterpart, owing to China’s massive market size. And with most mainstream social media networks – Twitter, Facebook, Google+, YouTube – banned in China, the country’s proprietary social media sites are bound to continue to grow.
