Simon Wiesenthal Center: Erase the Hate

A new report on digital terror and hate speech by the Simon Wiesenthal Center uncovered a 20 percent rise in Websites, social-network pages, chat forums, and blogs dedicated to hatred and aiding terrorism, The New York TimesBits reported.

Simon Wiesenthal Center associate dean Rabbi Abraham Cooper told Bits:

The real growth is where it is for everyone: in social networks. We don’t want to help the bad guys. The goal is to get the collective genius of the Internet to help combat this problem.

Cooper added that the report is distributed via CD-ROM to law-enforcement agencies and nonprofit groups because many of the sites contain terrorist tutorials, such as video clips of bomb-making instructions.
