Silly Hippie, Media’s For Corps.

martin.jpgA group of dirty smelly hippies think that big media is bad. As if corporate control of all that remains of public discourse in this country runs counter to democracy. As if allowing the needs of shareholders to come before the good of the community could, in any way, turn us into a nation of dolts.

Normally we’d ignore this ridiculous granola garbage, but the folks at are trying to gather other like-minded individuals to show up at an FCC public hearing on Oct. 3 (at 1 p.m. at USC’s Davidson Conference Center, Embassy Room, 3415 South Figueroa Street, Los Angeles, CA 90089 — not that we’d advise you to go, you dirty hippie).

We would like to urge anyone who is against lifting limits to Big Media’s stranglehold on all mediums of public thought to take a Vallium and stay home that day. Go ahead, just kick up your feet, turn on channel 2, or 9 or turn on one of seven Viacom radio stations, or pop in a Paramount Pictures DVD and just relax that silly muscle in your skull.

See? Don’t you feel better?
