Shepard Fairey Admits He Lied In Court

Artist Shepard Fairey has admitted that he lied in court about which Associated Press photo was the basis for his famous Barack Obama posters, then fabricated evidence to support the lie. The AP alleged that Fairey used this photo:

Since both photos were copyrighted images taken by Mannie Garcia for the AP, we’re confused as to why Fairey felt compelled to lie. But since we love the posters so much, we’ll probably forgive him.
