Clever Short Propels Nashville Filmmaker to Hollywood

Twenty-seven-year-old Seth Worley, who works by day for Lifeway Christian Resources, has LA meetings lined up in August with CAA, William Morris Endeavor, UTA, and several other powerhouse talent rep and management firms. All thanks to Plot Device, a nine-minute short that pokes fun at stock Hollywood characters.

Worley tells the Hollywood Reporter‘s Borys Kit that after a couple of rejected ideas, short corporate sponsor Red Giant was on board. In Plot Device, Worley’s brother Ben wreaks havoc in his front yard after receiving an Internet ordered magic push-button gizmo that when pressed, instantly brings to life such cliched Tinseltown narrative devices as a mad sniper, alien invaders, and so on:

Worley first got Red Giant’s attention last year with his entry in a Lost-themed promotional contest.

Update – 08/04/11: The trip to LA paid off for Sorley.
