Select Facebook Groups Are Getting Its Mentorship Feature

Those that focus on parenting, professional and personal development are first up

The Mentorship feature that Facebook introduced at its second annual Social Good Forum last November is being extended to groups.

Mentorship product manager Gabriel Cohen announced in a Newsroom post that starting Thursday, Mentorship is available to people 18 and older in select groups that focus on topics such as parenting, professional development and personal development, with plans to add categories in the coming months.

Group administrators can choose from a variety of template programs—including career advancement, skill development and encouragement and support—based on the needs of their communities.

Members of groups can then sign up to be mentors or mentees, with admins pairing them up.
