Scribd Comic Explains HTML 5

Scribd has a great webcomic up today that explains why the site is no longer using Flash and is instead using HTML 5 for digital reading.
The comic says that while Flash was a great source for distributing documents with complex formatting, HTML 5 has the same capability without the problem of having to be on a Flash device. iPhone owners can attests to how annoying it is to load a page that says Flash is required.
“We think the future of reading is open,” says a character in the last slide. And Scribd is making their reader more open by adopting HTML 5. It works across devices, on mobile phones, eReaders, laptops and tablets.
