LAS VEGAS—For its CES 2020 activation, Twitter chose to highlight the best product launches of 2019. Alex Josephson, head of the platform’s brand strategy team Twitter Next, said launching a new product or initiative is the No. 1 reason brands activate on Twitter.

With more than 500 million tweets sent every day—tens of millions from brands—trends for the future are set on the platform, which then evolve into IRL marketing activations. We caught up with Josephson at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas on Wednesday to talk about how brands can succeed on Twitter.
