Save the Date: Susan G. Komen’s Honoring the Promise Gala Next Thursday with Joan Lunden
As we head into fall, Susan G. Komen’s Honoring the Promise gala is back with former ABC “Good Morning America” co-host Joan Lunden as its emcee. Komen will honor Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) and The Carlyle Group’s David Rubenstein for their commitment in the fight to end breast cancer.
Lunden publicly announced in June of this year on “GMA” that she was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer, for which she recently underwent treatment. Last week she also became a grandmother.
The evening will feature a musical performance by Bruce Hornsby and money raised from the event will support Komen’s 19 grantees, non-profit organizations providing breast health services in the National Capital region.
Also slated to be in attendance: Susan Ford Bales, the daughter of the late-First Lady Betty Ford; Susan G.
