Santiago Calatrava Buys $5.5 Million Estate in Connecticut

Ever wonder where these starchitects everyone’s always talking about hang their hats at night? If it’s Santiago Calatrava you’re most curious about, we can answer that one. According to the Wall Street Journal, he’s just purchased a 35-acre, 5,500 square foot estate in Warren, Connecticut from the former head of American Express for a cool $5.5 million, down from its original $7.35 million. The Journal has a 17 page slideshow of the place and it seems rather subdued and very Connecticut-y.
