New York Times Correspondent Jumps to ESPN

Sam Borden will cover a wide range of sports

From Paris to Bristol, Ct. is not exactly a well-worn trajectory. But when the purview is as expansive as the one tendered to Sam Borden by ESPN, it makes personal and professional sense.

Per an announcement, Borden has given up his post as New York Times foreign sports correspondent in Paris in favor of a writer and TV contributor position withe ESPN. He will cover soccer, the Olympics and more:

A graduate of Emory University, Borden began his career as the Yankees beat writer for the New York Daily News, and paved his journalism career with stints at the Florida Times-Union, The Journal News and The New York Times, where he worked for five years.
