Rumor: MySpace Launching HD Video Service
According to one MySpace insider, MySpace is planning on launching an HD video service later this fall. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find a confirming source due to my lack of contacts at the tight lipped company that until recently had little presence even in the bay area. According to my source, Myspace will be launching an HD video service that will be in the range of 480 to 720 instead of the maximum 1080 currently offered via HD video.
If this turns out to be true (which I have a feeling it will given the inside contact), it further supports the idea that MySpace is indeed focused on being a media company rather than simply a social network.
