Rovio’s revenues jump 963% year-on-year to $106.3M in 2011

The Angry Birds empire of mobile games and merchandise netted Rovio $106.3 million in revenue in 2011, a 963 percent increase over the $10 million the company reported in 2010.

According to numbers Rovio released this morning, its earnings before tax were $67.6 million. Rovio’s rapidly expanding consumer products business, which includes toys, candy, clothes and other merchandise, accounted for approximately 30 percent of total revenue for the year.

The company’s also revealed total downloads across all games were 648 million by the end of 2011, and have since climbed to 800 million.

At the end of 2011 Rovio had 200 million monthly active users across both web and mobile platforms, but that number is likely much higher now thanks to the developer’s 2012 releases like the chart-topping Angry Birds Space and the new Facebook
