Roman Polanski is free. The Ministry of Justice in Switzerland has said that it would not extradite the notorious director to the U.S. to face sentencing for charges.
The eBook The Burden of Being Roman Polanski by Rafael J. Salin-Pascual, a Lulu.com release, gives more details to the historic case. The book follows up on themes from HBO’s 2008 documentary Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired, which paints a picture of a man who went to court, admitted guilt and even served time, but skipped town before finishing it because of a somewhat corrupt judge.
This eBook has post-film interviews with the district attorney. From the product description page, “In the film, Wells, the former assistant district attorney, acknowledged having improper conversations with the judge, Laurence J. Rittenband, and advising him on sentencing Polanski. When asked about it, he told ABCNews.com he exaggerated such claims for the film to make himself look more important to the case than he was.”
