Roll Call: The LIVESTRONG Foundation, Widmeyer Communications and NBC Entertainment Group

The LIVESTRONG Foundation announced the appointments of Candice Toll Aaron and Jeremiah Robins to its Board of Directors. Aaron, who currently serves as a compliance leader at GE Capital, is a lawyer with significant experience in corporate governance and a survivor of papillary thyroid cancer; she is both a founding member and current chair of the LIVESTRONG Young Leader’s Cancer Council and a member of the LIVESTRONG Foundation’s President’s Circle.

Robins, who lost his first wife Stephanie to cancer, has a long-standing devotion to philanthropic causes. He is the chairman and CEO of Great Pond Management Company, LLC (GPMC), a U.S.-based private equity firm specializing in the acquisition and redevelopment of underperforming manufacturing companies. In addition to his work there, Robins is chairman and CEO of Rotation Dynamics Corporation, a multinational manufacturer of consumables. (Release)

Marty Machowsky is joining the Washington, DC office of Widmeyer Communications. Machowsky will provide strategic counsel to healthcare and technology clients as senior vice president in the firm’s public affairs practice–he brings experience both on Capitol Hill and as a communications professional to Widmeyer, which is celebrating its 25th Anniversary as one of Washington and New York’s leading independent communications firms. Prior to joining Widmeyer, Machowsky held positions at McGuireWoods Consulting, Edelman and Issue Dynamics. He also worked for several congressional representatives in roles like legislative director, press secretary and legislative assistant. (Release)

Variety‘s Stuart Levine is joining NBC Entertainment as veep of editorial and media relations. Levine will lead editorial efforts for the Peacock, penning and editing press materials, spearheading media relations initiatives and working closely on publicity regarding ratings. He’ll also be involved in corporate communications. He’ll report to Rebecca Marks, exec veep of publicity, and Nate Kirtman, senior veep of corporate public relations. Levine has been with Variety since 1998, most recently serving as managing editor of television and features. (Release)
