Solomon McCown has hired Michelle Mastrobattista as director, digital communications. Michelle Mastrobattista is a veteran digital marketing strategist who has worked in both agency and in-house roles on behalf of public and private businesses, as well as mission-driven organizations. At SM&, she will oversee the strategy and execution of all social media and digital initiatives for the agency and its clients. In addition, she assumes a leadership role on viral marketing campaigns, digital crisis management, as well as search engine marketing and optimization strategies. Michelle comes to Solomon McCown & Co. from Propel Marketing (a GateHouse Media company) where she oversaw a portfolio of 100 social marketing clients pursuing integrated strategies in support of public relations, marketing and advertising campaigns. She also managed a team that created and optimized content for different platforms, curated clients’ social networking profiles and analyzed metrics. (Release)

Eric Steckel has been named digital media strategist at Landis Communications Inc. Eric’s varied experiences in television production, digital media production and marketing communications have uniquely coalesced in his role as digital media strategist. He provides strategic counsel to LCI clients in the area of digital media and video production. For the past 11 years, Eric has been partner at BARS+TONE, a Digital Media Agency focusing exclusively on Advertising, Marketing and PR Communications. Also at LCI, David Cumpston has been named director of client services, and brings more than 15 years of public relations experience to his role. He is responsible for directing a number of high-profile clients in a variety of industries including: retail, healthcare, real estate, hospitality, food/beverage, consumer technology and financial services, among others. During his seven-year tenure with Allison+Partners, David managed day-to-day activities and played senior roles on a number of large and small consumer and consumer tech brands. Sean Dowdall has been named general manager and chief marketing officer at LCI, and is a 28-year financial services marketing, sales and public relations executive specializing in the innovation, creation and successful delivery to market of strategic initiatives, ongoing capabilities and fully-integrated campaigns. He provides strategic counsel to LCI clients, oversees the marketing and digital practice areas and supervises financial management for the agency.(
