Porter Novelli has hired Ryan Kuresman as SVP in its Washington, DC, office, leading its public affairs and corporate communications practice. He is reporting to Jennifer Swint, MD of Washington, DC. Kuresman was previously VP and director in the corporate communications and issues management practice of APCO Worldwide. (Release)

Ketchum announced the appointment of Bruce Shu as managing director of Ketchum Greater China. Based in Hong Kong, Shu joins Ketchum today and will report to Jon Higgins, senior partner and CEO, International, for Ketchum. Prior to joining Ketchum, Shu was managing director of Asia Pacific operations at Grayling, where he worked for nearly seven years. (Release)

Brunswick Group announced that Ed Gillespie has returned to the firm as senior counselor. In this role, Mr. Gillespie will contribute to the development of the firm’s corporate reputation, crisis and public affairs practices, while also providing counsel on key issues such as digital communications campaign strategies and corporate data and security. He rejoins Brunswick Group after a 2014 campaign for the U.S. Senate in Virginia. (Release)

Vectis Strategies has appointed Sarah Catz as senior partner, leading the firm’s Orange County office in Irvine, California. The agency is headquarted in Los Angeles with offices in Sacramento, California, and Washington, DC. She previously served as chairman of the board of the Orange County Transportation Authority.
