Porter Novelli has hired Emilie Schaum as vice president, talent acquisition. In this role, Schaum is responsible for recruiting for the Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, New York and Washington, DC offices. She is based at the firm's New York office. Prior to joining PN, Schaum has led talent acquisition and human resources functions at agencies including Grey Direct, Medicus Group (now Publicis Healthcare Consulting Group), MSLGroup and PHD. Most recently, she recruited for Marina Maher Communications and Rx Mosaic. (Release) Edelman has appointed Kish Rajan as senior vice president and senior advisor in its Public Affairs practice. Rajan, former director of GO Biz, will be based in Edelman’s Sacramento office. Rajan joins the Edelman team with 20 years of experience in government and the private sector. In 2012, Kish was appointed by California Gov. Jerry Brown to lead the newly formed Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development (GO Biz). (Release) Horn Group, Inc. has promoted of Brian Sinderson from managing director to senior managing director and general manager, New York. In addition, the agency has added two vice presidents: Allyne Mills, formerly senior vice president with Beckerman|Antenna Group and Erica McDonald, who rejoins Horn Group from DiGennaro Communications. Sinderson joined Horn Group in 2014, and along with his current duties, also oversees the firm’s IT and HR functions and serves on the agency’s executive team. Prior to Horn Group, he was a senior vice president and global account lead at MSL Group. Allyne Mills brings to Horn Group a 25-year track record driving integrated brand marketing programs for blue-chip brands as well as emerging technology players. Prior to joining Horn, she served as senior vice president at Beckerman | Antenna Group. (Release) The Glover Park Group (GPG) announced that Nedra Pickler has joined as a managing director. Pickler will work in the Strategic Communications practice, providing strategic and media counsel for the firm’s clients. Pickler joins GPG after spending 17 years at The Associated Press (AP), most recently serving as a White House reporter covering the second term of the Obama Administration. Also of note, Pickler was part of the AP team nominated for a Pulitzer Prize for coverage of the 2008 presidential campaign and received several awards from the AP during her tenure. (Release) Bilingual multicultural marketing communications expert Lissette M. Rodriguez announced the launch of Chic Influence, a new public relations agency specializing in building influence with the powerful U.S. Hispanic market while simultaneously bringing client stories to the mainstream forefront. Based in New York City, the agency launches with two clients—Being Latino, one of the country’s top social media marketing companies targeting Hispanic millennials, and Celebrity Hairstylist and Makeup Artist Gabriel Samra. Rodriguez has more than 10 years of experience in the U.S. Hispanic market within the beauty, lifestyle, retail, finance, gaming, and non-profit industries. Prior to establishing Chic Influence, she was the Senior Vice President at DeVries Global where she launched the agency’s multicultural practice. (Release) MATIERE has hired Matt Feniger as brand marketing manager for their Matiere and Strand collections. In his new role, Feniger has been tasked with helping to provide the vision, mission, goals and strategies for the brand while overseeing advertising and marketing activities to ensure message consistency and improve market share. This also includes creating and managing on-brand partnerships and collaborations. Feniger most recently served as the New York menswear editor for leading international trend forecasting service WGSN. He has also held editorial positions at eBay, Fashion Snoops and INK Magazine.
