Roll Call: McDonald’s, B-M, FEMA, and More

McDonald’s has hired MWW Group’s Cheryll Forsatz as director of PR for the New York region, a new position. Forsatz was head of consumer PR at MWW. The move continues the evolution of McDonald’s decentralized model, according to PRWeek.

Burson-Marsteller has appointed Jay Leveton as worldwide EVP. He’s currently CEO of Proof Integrated Communications and an MD with Penn Schoen Berland. He will work with senior management on U.S. growth, continue in his lead role at Proof, and serve as interim chair of the U.S. brand marketing practice.

The firm has also appointed worldwide COO Richard Powell to the additional position of global corporate practice chair. CEO of EMEA Jeremy Galbraith has been appointed the global public affairs practice chair. Worldwide vice chair Don Baer has been named chief strategy officer and a member of the firm’s senior management team. And Erica Swerdlow is now the Midwest market leader and MD of the brand marketing practice. She was previously an EVP with Porter Novelli; she was with the firm for a decade.

Leslie Norwalk, former acting administrator for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), has joined the APCO Worldwide Advisory Council. In her role at the CMS, Norwalk was responsible for managing the daily operations of Medicare, Medicaid, state child health insurance programs, and federal initiatives.

Bruce Brodoff has been appointed external affairs specialist for Public-Private Initiatives and Outreach at the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Boston office. He was recently an external affairs officer for FEMA in New York.
