Roll Call Joins The WH Press Corps

Roll Call Editor Charlie Mitchell sent the following internal notice, obtained by FishbowlDC, to staffers yesterday:

I am pleased to announce that Keith Koffler will be joining Roll Call as our new White House correspondent, effective July 14. Keith brings over a decade of experience covering the White House for CongressDaily. Most importantly, his focus has been, and will continue to be, on the relationship between Capitol Hill and 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Keith is a relentlessly aggressive reporter with an eye for the Big Story and a graceful writing style. In addition to covering the daily White House beat for the past 11 years, Keith coauthored a weekly column on the lobbying community and wrote a behind-the-scenes White House column. He was also CongressDaily’s lead reporter on a variety of projects, including coverage of the controversial tobacco legislation a few years back.

The addition of an experienced White House reporter will serve us well in the near term, but also positions us for the arrival of a new administration in 2009. We are looking forward to adding yet another level of expertise to our reporting ranks and another level of insight for our readers.

I hope to have the chance to bring Keith to the newsroom over the next week or so to meet the Roll Call staff.
