Golin promoted Dawn Langeland to managing director of its New York office. Langeland joined the firm in March as deputy managing director in Manhattan, and in the new role her responsibilities will expand to include managing the office’s largest accounts/day-to-day operations and focusing on new business development. The release tells us that Langeland was behind the firm’s recent account wins including Kayak and NYX cosmetics, and New York co-president Matt Neale writes that “In just a few months Dawn demonstrated what an effective leader she is…this is a role she was destined to do.”

APCO Worldwide has hired Gadi Dechter, former senior advisor at the White House National Economic Council and National Security Council under President Obama, as head of its Public Affairs Practice. He will be based in Washington, D.C. Dechter joins APCO after having served at the White House under President Obama as director for international economics with the National Security Council and senior policy advisor with the National Economic Council. Previously, Dechter served as deputy director of policy and strategic planning at the U.S. Department of Commerce. (Release)

Fenton is expanding its environment, energy and sustainability expertise, and to that end, the firm has hired Ryan Cunningham and Eric Raymond as senior vice presidents in Washington, D.C. and San Francisco. Ryan Cunningham comes to Fenton after launching Cunningham Strategic Communications in 2013. Ryan previously co-created and built the Energy & Sustainability practice at The Glover Park Group in D.C. Eric Raymond has spent 15 years working to drive change and issue-awareness using integrated PR, social media and digital marketing. He most recently worked with Google, where he managed global communications for energy and sustainability, and Edelman, where he founded the west coast digital CSR group. (Release)

Whiteboard Advisors announced the addition of Ted Eismeier as an associate vice president in its growing communications practice. Eismeier’s previous experience at Washington-based communications agencies involved complex, large-scale campaigns on behalf of major non-profits and institutions across both K-12 and higher education sectors. The firm also announced the promotion of Jenna Schuette Talbot to vice president. (Release)
