Roll Call: Edelman, Weber Shandwick, MRM, and More

Kym White has been named global chair of Edelman’s health practice, reporting to Alan VanderMolen, president and CEO of global practices and diversified insights businesses.  White joined the firm last year after 16 years with Ogilvy PR.

She steps into a role vacated by Nancy Turett, who has been head of the health practice for about 20 years. Turett is now the chief strategist of health and society, a role that will focus on senior client relationships and business development. She’s been with the firm for 23 years.

And taking White’s position as global vice chair of the health practice is Susan Isenberg, previously the MD of brand and product marketing for the health and consumer groups in New York. She’ll also serve as chair of the health practice for the Americas working closely with White. She’s been with the firm for 18 years.

According to a statement from VanderMolen, the health practice has set a focus on diversification and “related societal issues.” That press release goes on to say that the Edelman health practice has 500 staffers around the world and is responsible for about 16 percent of global revenue.

Paul Andrew has been promoted to EVP at Weber Shandwick in the global corporate and image management practice working out of the Boston office. He will focus on messaging, crisis communication, and corporate comms. He has 10 years of experience, serving as special adviser to Tony Blair’s administration.

Crystal Brown has been named SVP of the pre-K through 12 education practice at Widmeyer Communications . She works on a number of projects with the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, with MSNBC’s Making the Grade, and other firm clients. Peter Hahn has been named SVP of the digital and creative group. He’s been with the firm for 10 years.

MRM has made a number of changes to its global leadership. Andy Jacobs has been named EVP, CTO, and director of global partnerships, focusing on business development and growth in the tech practice. He joined the firm in 2006. Among the clients he’s worked with are GM and Intel. Dave Hohman, has been named EVP and global performance director, a new position at the firm. The job is an expansion upon Hohman’s previous position, which was focused on the Americas. His role is focused on database marketing, data analysis, and insight. Tim Cunningham has been named chief strategy officer. He will continue working with the firm’s GM client and work closely with Hohman and the firm’s CEO, Bill Kolb. Patricia Berns has been named EVP and MD of the San Francisco office. She’s been the lead on the Verizon client for five years. And Andy McQueen has been named EVP, director of commercial operation for the Americas, a new position at the firm. He joined in 2006 as CFO of the East region.

Worldcom, the global network of independent PR firms, has elected Lisa Simon, president of Simon Public Relations, to the board of directors for the Americas region and the 2012 partner retention chair, responsible for partner firms across the Americas. [via]
