Roll Call: Edelman, Ruder Finn, Hill+Knowlton and More

Today Edelman announced the appointment of three new global sector chairs. Tish Van Dyke will run Food and Beverage, Deidre H. Campbell Financial Services and Amy Hemingway Energy. The three new appointees will report to global director of sectors/global chair of Edelman Health Kym White. In the release, White notes that the move marks an attempt to further consolidate the firm's practices by appointing "specialists with deep knowledge of their businesses" to chair each sector and serve various clients united by business but separated by geography, language and culture. Van Dyke has been with Edelman for 17 years, most recently as a D.C.-based general manager directing the firm's "pan-industry health engagement efforts" and serving on its global health team. Campbell, who joined the Corporate practice a year ago after building a career in various financial communications roles, will lead a "team of more than 150 financial services communications experts" in here new position. Hemingway, who joined the firm in 2006 and has led campaigns for various energy companies, noted that in her new role she will encourage Edelman clients in the natural resources, clean tech and power industries to be more transparent in their engagement with stakeholders and media. Robin Kim will be EVP/MD of global technology at Ruder Finn as of November 10. Kim previously served as EVP at Edelman's Silicon Valley practice, where she oversaw the firm's enterprise and B2B technology group. In addition to supporting general growth in the San Francisco region, she will support the firm's growing roster of tech clients. Prior to joining Edelman, Kim spent more than 16 years within the WPP organization, playing various management roles at Burson-Marsteller, Cohn & Wolfe and Hill & Knowlton. She will report to CEO Kathy Bloomgarden. Hill+Knowlton Strategies announced several changes to its U.S. leadership team. The firm split its stateside operations into three distinct regions with a manager for each: co-lead of client service Erin Gentry will lead the West Coast Region, while Chicago GM/head of financial comms Claire Koeneman will lead the Central Region, and former Washington GM Howard Opinsky will lead the East Coast Region. In other executive changes, Dallas-based EVP James Fuller will lead the firm's public affairs leadership practice and Robert Ludke, who will step down from his role as leader of the corporate practice to focus on sustainability, will serve as interim GM of H+K's D.C. office as the firm searches for a new leader. New Jersey-based MWW acquired New York's "innovation and development lab" Ideation, Inc. and hired its founder Robert Dilio as chief technology officer. Dilio, who will expand MWW's technology offerings by "build[ing] custom solutions for clients," brings more than two decades of experience in tech and analytics to the new role; before founding Ideation in 2012 he held various tech, engineering and application development roles at companies like AT&T, JPMorgan Chase and The Blackstone Group. In the release, President Michael W. Kempner writes that Dilio's contributions will include "a suite of technology tools that lead the industry in real-time analytics." Burson-Marsteller added two new directors in its London office. Amanda Kamin joins from VISA Europe, where she served as head of policy and issues management, while Charlie Howard was most recently associate director/head of crisis management at Fishburn. Kamin, who also worked with B-M earlier in her career, has a history of tech comms work; Howard handled digital strategy, media relations and reputation work for Hill+Knowlton and others. (PR Week) Liberty Communications announced the appointment of Scott Beaver as VP/GM to help expand upon its move to San Francisco. His most recent position was account manager at Bateman Group, where he was a member of the firm's senior leadership team. He also served as a senior associate at New York's Sard Verbinnen & Co. Beaver has a history of managing comms for tech clients like Braintree (acquired by eBay) and WeChat (owned by Tencent); he will recruit at all levels to staff the firm's San Francisco office in an attempt to "replicate the success of its European business." Milwaukee-based "global engagement marketing agency" GMR hired Matt Hill as SVP of global sports and entertainment consulting. Hill most recently served as director of business development for the National Football League, working with corporate partners like NetApp, TD Ameritrade and DirecTV. He will be based in the agency's New York City office.
