Rodale Promotes Across The Board

Big day for Rodale, publisher of Men’s Health and Women’s Health. Allison Hobson Falkenberry, former executive director to Men’s Health has been promoted up to vice president of brand communications for all the Rodale titles, while Allison Keane will be taking the executive director position at both magazines, reporting to Falkenberry. Rodale’s Prevention magazine has also seen some upward mobility today, with Bethridge Toovell taking on the role of director of communications, and Lauren Paul has moved up to communications manager.

-Allison Keane Promoted to Executive Director, Men’s Health/Women’s Health; Bethridge Toovell Promoted to Director of Communications, Prevention; Tanja Sullivan Promoted to Director of Corporate Communications; Other Promotions Announced Across Communications Department-

New York, NY, February 3, 2010 — Rodale Inc. today announced that Allison Hobson Falkenberry has been promoted to Associate Vice President, Brand Communications. In this role, Falkenberry will lead Rodale’s magazine publicity teams and will be responsible for all consumer publicity across Rodale’s magazines including editorial, branded books, and International, as well as advertising and media trades efforts. She will also work closely with Rodale’s Integrated Marketing & Sales team on all consumer-facing media opportunities. Falkenberry will report to Robin Shallow, EVP, Communications.

“As Executive Director, Men’s Health, Allison has been at the forefront of a public relations strategy that drove a record number of media impressions for the brand in 2009, kept the Eat This, Not That! franchise on bestseller lists since its launch, and positioned Men’s Health as the go-to resource for men’s fitness and lifestyle content,” said Shallow. “I am confident that she will lead our talented team of magazine publicists to even greater success in 2010.”

Rodale also announced that Allison Keane has been promoted to Executive
Director, Men’s Health/Women’s Health, reporting to Falkenberry. In this new expanded role, Keane will lead the publicity efforts across both brands. Previously, Keane drove the PR strategy for Women’s Health, generating high-profile placements for the magazine’s celebrity, beauty, fashion, and lifestyle coverage, and helped secure stellar industry recognition for the magazine within the trade media.

At Prevention, Bethridge Toovell has been promoted to Director of
Communications, reporting to Falkenberry. Toovell will oversee the brand’s press strategy and will be responsible for keeping Prevention at the center of the national conversation on health. She will also help the brand break into the entertainment world as the magazine continues to increase its celebrity coverage. Lauren Paul has been promoted to Manager, Communications, and will be responsible for publicity efforts surrounding Prevention-branded books, as well as increasing awareness for the brand through national and local television segments. Paul will report to Toovell.

Within Rodale’s Corporate Communications group, Tanja Sullivan has been
promoted to Director, Corporate Communications, reporting to Shallow. In this role, Sullivan will be responsible for overseeing all internal
communications. She will also continue to oversee corporate trade media
relationships and speaking opportunities for executives within Rodale’s
corporate groups.

Ellie Prezant has been promoted to Senior Manager, Marketing Communications, reporting to Shallow. Prezant will continue as the liaison to Rodale’s marketing partners, will manage additional new partnerships spanning Rodale brands, and will lead the execution of key external corporate events.
